Dr. David Walker is a native of Morehead City and a graduate of West Carteret High School. He completed his undergraduate, dental and orthodontics training at UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Masters, and a Specialists degree in orthodontics. Over the past several years, he has had the honor of lecturing both nationally and internationally, publishing numerous research articles, and serving as a fellow with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, DC. Dr. Walker continues to publish while in private practice and was awarded the Publication of the Year Award from one of the most prestigious orthodontic journals. He believes in utilizing the most cutting-edge technology, including Speed Braces, Invisalign, and Invisalign Teen, to provide our patients the beautiful smiles they deserve. He also believes it is important that patients have fun while in The Smile Makers’ offices.

Dr. Walker is an active Rotarian and member of the First Methodist Church in Morehead City. As an Eagle Scout, he enjoys volunteering with our local Scouts. He also enjoys running, hiking, surfing, boating, and spending time with his wife Leeanne, daughter Madeline, and dog Ellie.
